DACGS Secretary Bruce Pearson will share some new ideas for tackling the problem of finding lost ancestors. Bruce has been doing genealogy on and off for about 20 years. He is one of the founders of DACGS. He has served as DACGS President, Newsletter Editor and Secretary.
Eva Nevarez St John will do a presentation on how she turned her research on her 2x Great grandparents Marshall St John and Elena Torres into an article that won first place in the New Mexico Genealogical Society's 2017 Family History Writing Contest. Eva has been researching her ancestors since she relocated to New Mexico in 2010.
Georgie McDougle will be doing a program on organizing your genealogy papers and computer files. It's hard to do research in a mess of chaos. There's nothing worse than doing the same research you did six months or two years ago, because you're not organized. In addition to being an active member of DACGS, Georgie is the New Mexico State Regent for the Daughters of the American Revolution; and active in Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Daughters of American Colonists, Daughters of 1812, Mayflower Society, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the New England Women.
This program will be held at the Doña Ana County Clerk's Office
